Action Tutoring English Volunteer Tutor

Action Tutoring partners with primary and secondary schools to deliver tutoring programmes for pupils preparing for their GCSEs and SATs.

Action Tutoring supports young people facing socio-economic disadvantage to achieve a meaningful level of academic attainment, with a view to enabling them to progress in education, employment or training. We do this by partnering high-quality volunteer tutors with pupils to increase their subject knowledge, confidence and study skills.

One of my MBA projects centred around providing increased resources to remote learning. Our biggest barrier was how these resources, delivered digitally, could be accessed by all demographics, not just those that could afford their own laptops and internet access.

It really highlighted to me the importance of skill sharing and giving back so the generations below us can innovate and benefit. From September 2020, I’ll be dedicating half a working day to help kids get back up to date with missed teaching due to the pandemic.
